Even without extra accessories, the bagpipe is a complex system; add drone valves, a watertrap, or a canister system, and it becomes even more complicated. One small issue can affect the working of the whole bagpipe, and  pinpointing the origin of a problem can be a challenge. Maybe you need to know why your pipes seem to take a lot of air, or maybe they tune too high or low. In these types of cases, the free bagpipe system test may prove helpful. Shipping is the customer's responsibility both ways, but the test is free of charge. We will play the system as you send it and do our best to assess the setup or diagnose the source of an issue you're having. We will then call and talk with you about what we noticed or suggestions we might have. We're simply sharing our ideas based on long experience with many pipe setups; we can't promise we'll solve the problem. For this service, you would need to send the whole bagpipe, set up as its played, including reeds. Return shipping is $30, and it also covers shipping for other products you may decide to purchase after the diagnostic.

For this service pipes must be complete and in reasonable working order already; we're just looking for tweaks that might improve things. If the pipes are not made in the UK, Canada, or the US, or if they have not been played recently, this service probably won't prove useful.
