Children's Practice Chanter Program

 

This package was put together with kids under 10 years old in mind; older kids can learn on a regular or long practice chanter. The Dunbar child's chanter is 3/4 length, but unlike some children's chanters, it's pitched to play with longer chanters, which can be very helpful when a student is playing along with an instructor. The modern Piping Centre Tutor program was selected for its thoroughness, layout, relevant tune selection, and color pictures. Plus, the CD/CDROM has a wealth of content, including 80+ audio clips of tunes and exercises--with a play-along mode--and more than 50 video clip of the exercises. This combination of components will help youngsters develop a strong foundation, increasing the chances for later success on the bagpipes.

 

 

 

Tip for Success: We strongly encourage all beginners to work with a piping instructor, locally or online, for the best chance of a successful transition to the bagpipes. The bagpipes are complex, and there are many finer points best learned from an experienced piper.
